A Consultation Meeting on Internationalization in Higher Education was Held in Ankara

The 6th Consultation Meeting on Internationalization in Higher Education, organized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) International Relations Department, was held on May 12, 2026, hosted by Ankara University. Artvin Çoruh University was represented by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Murat KİBAR and Head of the International Student Office, Lec. Ercan SOYSAL.

The meeting addressed important topics such as international student policies, inter-university collaborations, academic staff employment, international rankings, support mechanisms for the education sector, and global competition in higher education.

The opening speeches were given by Prof. Dr. Necdet Ünüvar and Prof. Dr. Naci Gündoğan. Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Directorate of Migration Management, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), the Turkish National Agency, and the Turkish Maarif Foundation also presented their findings.

Following the presentations, a comprehensive question-and-answer session was held where participants could share their views and questions. The all-day meeting was considered to have made significant contributions to internationalization efforts in higher education.
