ACU Takes a New Step to Strengthen Academic Cooperation with Uzbekistan

Artvin Çoruh University, in line with its internationalization vision, has taken another significant step toward strengthening academic cooperation in Central Asia. Following an online meeting, a cooperation protocol in the field of education was signed between ACU and Uzbekistan’s Aniq and Social Sciences University and OXUS University.
The meeting was attended by Artvin Çoruh University Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Aydın, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Sibel Açışlı Çelik and Prof. Dr. Fikret Sözbilir, and Director of the International Relations Research and Application Center Dr. Hakan Gültekin. Senior academic and administrative representatives from both universities in Uzbekistan also participated in the meeting.
During the online meeting, discussions focused on further strengthening the cooperation between Artvin Çoruh University and Uzbekistan, which has been developing within the framework of the Orhun Exchange Program and existing bilateral agreements, and on advancing academic relations to a higher level. The participants evaluated ways to expand areas of inter-university cooperation, enhance mutual academic interaction, and establish more sustainable institutional partnerships.
With the cooperation protocols signed after the meeting, Artvin Çoruh University aims to expand its network of partnerships with higher education institutions in Uzbekistan, increase student and academic staff mobility, and develop joint academic activities. The cooperation is expected to lay the foundation for a long-term and multidimensional academic partnership between universities in the two countries.
In his remarks during the meeting, Artvin Çoruh University Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Aydın emphasized that these contacts with universities in Uzbekistan are of great importance for the university’s internationalization goals and stated that Artvin Çoruh University will continue its efforts to strengthen regional academic cooperation through the Orhun Exchange Program and bilateral agreements with determination.
