
The kick-off meeting of the EU project carried out by our university, within Erasmus+ Higher Education Joint Partnerships, titled "Green Chemistry Applications on Selected Medicinal and Aromatic Plants in Artvin Region" (contract number 2022-1-TR01-KA220-HED-000089361) was held in Italy.
The GreenChem Project's Kick-off Meeting was Held in Turin, Italy
During the meetings held in Turin, Italy, between April 24-28, 2023, our university was represented by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sıtkı Bilgin (Rector), Asst. Prof. Dr. Muhammed Ardıç (Secretary General), Asst. Prof. Dr. Hakan Gültekin (Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kemal Gümüş (BİLTEKMER Director), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emrah Peşman (TABİK Coordinator), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Funda Erşen Bak and Lect. Dr. Ergün Gültekin (Project team members) and Lect. Hakan Taşkaya (Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator Assistant).
While The University of Turin, one of the project partners, hosted the four-day series of meetings, representatives from partner universities (the Agricultural University of Georgia, University of Galați, The University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague and the Institute for Single Crystals National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine) contributed with presentations and laboratory studies.
On the first day of the program, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hakan Gültekin gave a presentation on the basics of the project. Afterwards, Assoc. Dr. Mustafa Kemal Gümüş gave information about the field and laboratory studies of the project as well as Hypericum androsaemum and Ruscus colchicus, medicinal and aromatic plants unique to Artvin, being studied at the Science/Technology Application and Research Center of our University (BİLTEKMER) that form the basis of the project. The certificates of the participants were presented by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sıtkı Bilgin, the Rector of Artvin Çoruh University.
